Apache Nugget Travel Center and Casino 2j5354
Cuba, New Mexico (pronounced “koo-ba”) is home to the Navajo Nation Tribal Government, built on traditional Native land in the middle of Santa Fe National Forest. About an hours’ drive from Albuquerque, Cuba is also home to the Apache Nugget Travel Center and Casino. Opened in 2004 by the Jicarilla Apache Nation, Apache Nugget combines a small gaming floor with a hotel and retail complex to form a typical small American Southwest casino space. 4x215u

At the time of this review, Apache Nugget Casino is essentially a slot parlor. Around 300 slots and video poker terminals make up the entirety of the game lineup at this small New Mexico gambling venue. There are no live dealer table games, no poker tables, no bingo, nothing at all besides 250 slots and a few dozen video poker games. The casino floor is open 24 hours a day, all year long.
Multiple dining and drinking establishments are available on-site at Apache Nugget.
A snack bar is open 24 hours a day just inside the gaming floor area. It serves snacks, prepackaged sandwiches and salads, and desserts.
A more formal restaurant, the Apache Nugget Café, is also a full-service bar. The Apache Nugget Café serves food 24 hours, but adult beverages are only available between the hours of 11 AM and 2 AM.

The main attraction at Apache Nugget is the “travel center,” a fancy term for a small hotel, conference center, and retail space that’s attached to the casino. Though the gaming floor is on the small side, the conference rooms can accommodate between 25 and 400 people, and the retail outlet includes large discount shops that are a popular attraction for people from as far away as Santa Fe.
