As the name implies, DiamondJacks Casino Resort Bossier City is in Bossier City, Louisiana. Bossier City is essentially the other half of the Shreveport metropolitan area, located just across the Red River from her bigger sister. Located in the extreme northwest portion of Louisiana, near enough to the Texas and Oklahoma borders to spit across, Bossier City is not a major population center on its own, has little tourist appeal, and doesn’t attract much outside attention. Louisiana’s liberal gambling laws and the low cost of real estate in this sleepy town are the main reason why DiamondJacks moved in here.
Two DiamondJacks properties are open at the time of this review, one in Bossier City, the other in Vicksburg, Mississippi just a few hours to the east. DiamondJacks is a small chain that focuses mainly on slot and electronic games in the “riverboat” portion of the United States.

To that end, it should come as no surprise that DiamondJacks mainly caters to the slot and video poker crowd, with lots of electronic versions of casino classics thrown in for good measure. There are table games available, but they aren’t open for play 24 hours a day like the rest of the casino, an indication of the limited interest in them. There are a few too many to break down one by one; suffice to say that options ranging from casual snack foods to formal meals requiring a reservation are available. A snack bar operates 24 hours inside the gaming floor for the convenience of casino guests.
