Delta Casino is another California cardroom-style gaming venue outside Stockton, California. In the foothills of California’s wine country, and also near to several big urban population centers, Stockton is a growing metropolis that gets its share of wanderers and visitors, but those people aren’t who Delta casino exists for. 1u4p18

Since California law is quite strict when it comes to gambling, places like Delta Casino exist essentially to attract business from citizens who would otherwise spend their gambling money in nearby Nevada. Delta Casino is not a proper casino – in fact, it is nothing more than a poker room and small sports bar-like space in an old drive-in movie theater lot in the hills outside town.

The only game is poker, and judging by the website, the only game is REALLY Texas hold em. Other variants are available if enough players are available to form a game, but the main game used (and the game used in all tournaments) is traditional Texas hold em. As is traditional for California card rooms, there are no other games of chance or skill on hand at all. This is a poker room plain and simple.

The snack bar is open during all hours of regular poker play – unfortunately, those regular hours are not readily available, and the staff at Delta Casino was unsure of the weekend hours. It’s probably best to call before coming in, and judging by the size of the “kitchen,” it’s probably best not to expect more than a snack and a soda from the Delta Casino’s “restaurants.”
