Painted Hand Casino is one of Saskatchewan’s major attractions with over 300,000 guests visiting every year. It is a First Nations casino run by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority and is one of the larger ones in the region at 43,000 square feet. The casino is located in Yorkton and is decorated in First Nations style with art work and murals all around the gaming floor and restaurant. Saskatoon is the nearest city, which is located 330 kilometres away, but highways 9 and 10 both link Yorkton up to the rest of the province. The casino floor houses 240 slot machines and seven live gaming tables, with roulette, poker, Phil ‘em Up, Texas hold ‘em and blackjack all available. The gaming floor is open from 9am every day, closing at 3am from Sunday to Tuesday and 4am from Wednesday to Saturday but the gaming tables operate slightly shorter hours, opening at 2pm from Sunday to Wednesday and 1pm from Thursday to Saturday.
